IGNOU Marksheet Status: Result Declared but Marksheet Not Received

Ankush

Quick answer

If your IGNOU result is declared but you have not received a marksheet, first check that your academic record is complete in the official Grade Card. A result page, Grade Card, marksheet, provisional certificate and original degree serve different purposes. If the Grade Card is complete but the physical marksheet has not reached you, use the Student Evaluation Division or student-grievance route rather than treating it as a missing-marks problem.

These documents are not interchangeable

Record Main use What it does not prove by itself
Term-End Result Shows declared exam results for courses That every programme component is complete
Grade Card Shows evaluation components and course status That a physical marksheet has been delivered
Marksheet Formal marks record issued by the university That the original degree has been issued
Provisional Certificate Temporary proof of programme completion where issued That the original degree has been delivered
Degree/Diploma/Certificate Final award document That a separate marksheet delivery issue is resolved

What to check before reporting non-receipt

  1. Open the official Grade Card.
Check whether your programme and course components are complete. If something is missing academically, solve that first.
  2. Check the Term-End Result only for exam-result confirmation.
A declared theory result is useful, but it is not the same as a complete programme record.
  3. Confirm your current address and student details.
If your correspondence address changed, make sure your IGNOU record is correct.
  4. Keep proof of completion.
Save the Grade Card and any provisional certificate available to you before contacting Student Evaluation.

When it is a marksheet issue, not a marks issue

If the Grade Card is complete and the problem is only that the formal marksheet has not been received, describe it that way. Do not open a grievance saying “marks missing” if the marks are already visible.

IGNOU’s Student Evaluation Division is responsible for evaluation-related records and student support. Its contact information also covers student grievances and related examination services.

How to raise a clean query

Include your enrolment number, programme, completion session and a short statement that the Grade Card is complete but the marksheet has not been received. Attach or reference the Grade Card only if needed. If you have already contacted the responsible office and the problem remains unresolved, iGRAM is available for registered students.

Do not mix three requests in one message.

A marksheet non-receipt query should not also ask about missing assignment marks, degree dispatch and a name correction unless those are genuinely part of the same record problem.

Check the right record next

If your Grade Card itself is incomplete, use the missing-component guide when it is published. If the degree is the missing document, use the degree-delivery guide. You can also browse IGNOU Guides, Programmes and the Vidyanik Blog.
