IGNOU Degree Apply, Digital Degree or Dispatch Status: Which Service Do You Need?

Ankush

Quick answer

Choose the IGNOU degree service by the problem you actually have. If you are waiting for the original degree, start with convocation/degree delivery. If you need a digital academic record, check the IGNOU-supported DigiLocker/NAD route and your APAAR/ABC details. If the original award was already forwarded but not received, use the Degree Delivery Portal and contact the office shown there.

Choose the service before filling another form

  1. You completed the programme and need the original degree/diploma/certificate.
Check the relevant convocation and the current Degree Delivery Portal.
  2. You need a digital academic record.
IGNOU’s Student Evaluation Division states that degree/diploma/certificate services are available through DigiLocker/NAD, and IGNOU has also linked APAAR/ABC information to DigiLocker-based academic records.
  3. You already know the original certificate was forwarded but it never reached you.
Use the Degree Delivery Portal to identify where the certificate was sent or is available, then follow up with that Regional Centre or Headquarters.
  4. Your Grade Card is not complete.
This is not a degree-delivery problem yet. Solve the missing academic component first.

Original degree service

IGNOU’s current Degree Delivery Portal covers awards connected with multiple convocations and explains how eligible students who have not received a certificate can register or check where it was sent. The convocation service is relevant when you are part of the current convocation process.

Do not pay or register on a page simply because its title contains “degree”. Read the convocation coverage and instructions first.

If you need a digital degree or academic record

IGNOU’s Student Evaluation Division says the university has published degrees through the National Academic Depository and supports DigiLocker-based academic records. IGNOU’s APAAR/ABC instruction also explains that the ABC ID is linked to academic records in DigiLocker.

This route is different from physical degree dispatch. A digital record being available does not prove that a physical certificate has been delivered, and a physical delivery issue does not necessarily mean the digital record is unavailable.

If the physical award is the problem

Use IDMS to check the award/delivery information for your convocation range. Keep the registration acknowledgement, current address and the location where the certificate is shown as forwarded or available. Contact that office rather than sending the same request to several unrelated divisions.

When to use iGRAM

If you have identified the correct degree service and the issue remains unresolved through the responsible office, use iGRAM with the award details and the specific delivery problem.
